The Off Broadway Alliance, the organization of Off Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents and marketing firms, presented its 3rd Annual Off Broadway Alliance Awards in a ceremony on June 19 at Sardi’s.

Honorees present at the ceremony included Off Broadway Legends Christopher Durang, A.R. Gurney, Kristine Nielson, Daryl Roth, Stomp, and Sigourney Weaver.

Awards were given to: Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 as Best Musical, Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike as Best Play, Closer Than Ever as Best Musical Revival, The Piano Lesson as Best Play Revival, Buyer & Cellar as Best Unique Theatrical Experience, and Bunnicula as Best Family Show.

The Off Broadway Alliance also presented its annual Friends of Off Broadway Award to Wayne Sapper and Kenn Lubin of King Displays. The award “honor[s] the people or organizations that have consistently provided extraordinary generosity, support and expertise to the Off-Broadway community.” Wayne Sapper accepted the award on behalf of himself and his colleague, Kenn.
